My latest purchase!! I love living right over the boarder from France. Being so close allows me to purchase items such as an antique bed for insanely low prices!! This beauty is going in my guestroom. Back to France this Friday with some friends!Another view of my new bed!
It has been over 3+ months since I have made a post, not because I haven't been doing anything exciting, but because I have been extremely busy. I have been on many shopping trips and bought lots of neat items and gone to several flea markets too! It would take me days to update, so I will post pictures from the last market I went to at the end of September with 2 wonderful friends, Jeannette and Dianna. We drove up to Tongeren, Belgium and spent the night so we could get an early start at the flea market. I have been to this flea market before, but it was a first for my friends and we all came away with some treasures.
Jeannette, Dianna and myself inside our youth hostel room Inside the courtyard at the cathedral We had our picture taken with the mayor and his wife I just liked this nook
There was a big festival for the ascension of Mary going on while we were there and the streets were lined with calla lilies hanging between the buildings. The cathedral at night Eating and drinking Dessert More from the ceremony they had on the street, the kids were singing and dancing Loved this mirror, but didn't get it Love these dress forms Furniture! Jeannette almost bought this piece, but it was HUGE! Tons of shranks all over the placeMy sole purpose for going to Tongeren was to buy a dough bowl. I found this beautiful one for 47 euros. They sell them around here for over 80 euros, so I was happy! Oh and I saw them in the new Pottery Barn catalog for $149! Score and mine has a story-straight from a European flea market! I have been endlessly searching for glass jars large enough for my laundry detergent and I found one at the Tongeren Flea Market and the largest one, the following week at a second hand shop in France!
